I don't know why I felt an urge to start a blog about living in this country, when I have lived in so many others.  It initially was intended as a journal for me to express what happened to me as I went through each day in a country where I am a complete foreigner, on so many levels - only now am I beginning to even understand the language; admittedly I have been on a self imposed exile living in the "campo" or country for a year.

But with every good intention, it starts in the form you hope but over time it changes and molds into something else and that is pretty much what is happening to me and to this blog.  It is growing with me on my journey of self-discovery in this very fascinating terreno I now call home. I feel like I am cocooned in a chrysalis awaiting to emerge as a beautiful butterfly but who knows that may change form as well.
